Hello, I am glad you are here. This community means so much to me, it has followed me through 3 different mailing addresses. Like many of you, I just about had a cardiac event when I saw the news that Danish Post is throwing in the towel. I better mail while I can here in Canada.
I am 4 years into rural living on my little 15 acres within city limits. What a learning curve! My husband and I share the place with 4 emus, one of whom is a downright pleasure, a few goats and some highland cows. Our dear Muscovy duck was eaten by a predator recently and we really miss him. Our pup is a begalier who is just the naughtiest little guy, I kind of adore when he doesn’t listen. My husband says beagle is my spirit animal every time he chews a shoe or steals socks. The cultivated gardens on this property are lovely, yet so much work. Our plum tree produced beautiful sweet fruit for the first time this year. Proud of that little tree. We also put our farm to good use as a wedding venue. There are 2 Air BNB’s here too as life is never good enough for us unless it is complicated😂
I enjoy new places and most recently have visited Bali and also Spirit Bear Lodge off the coast of B.C. for bear viewing. We got very lucky to see a spirit bear (white black bear with some recessive gene thing happening). I have been to many places in this world and recognize my privilege. I would love to hear the places that have resonated most with you.

My social work career - I work both with seniors in a care home and hold a contract for housing/caregiving female youth sex offenders. I am proud to say I am the first woman to step up for the program for a male youth and I was asked back specifically to help female youth. I give thanks to my husband for supporting me in my work.
